What is TMS Therapy?

TMS is an FDA-approved, non-invasive, drug-free treatment that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain areas tied to mood. It’s effective for depression and anxiety, especially when other treatments fail. Sessions last 30–40 minutes, are done daily over 4–6 weeks, and require no recovery time. Benefits include fewer side effects, no downtime, and proven results—making it ideal for those seeking alternatives to medication.

What our patients

are saying

I have . . . an extensive wellness plan that includes treatment for the mind body and spirit. I wanted a fresh opinion, so I reached out for a consultation with Dr. Kurtz to review my current treatment plan and supplements. I found her to be easy to schedule with, kind, lovely and very knowledgeable when it comes to integrative psychiatry. I will definitely be coming back again!

Mind Matters

TMS uses electromagnetic pulses to activate neurons in the prefrontal cortex, a brain region involved in mood regulation. The magnetic pulses stimulate neural activity in the brain, which can improve communication between brain cells, reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety over time.

In recent times there has been a decrease in stigma of mental health. Which has been a great thing as more people than ever are prioritizing their mental health and improving their life. With the increase in people seeking help for mental health, there also is more options than ever for where to go to receive help.

Unfortunately, quantity does not mean quality, and this is something at Meah that we take very seriously. You are busy, so it is important that you are prioritized. In order to give you the best help we made sure to emphasize:

1. Care over seen by Psychiatrists, the leading experts in mental health treatment.

2. Multiple proven and cutting edge treatment options all available at our location.

3. Modern convenience with in-person and virtual options for appointments.

To date, there have not been any studies indicating that TMS has a negative impact on cognitive functioning or could cause changes in our core personality structure. In fact, as TMS treats symptoms of depression and anxiety (which can both negatively affect cognition, learning and social behavior), individuals may notice an overall improvement in cognitive performance and their ability to be their best selves.
